On January 30, 2018, the Law “On State Financial Guarantees of Medical Services for the Population” came into force.

This Law, among other things, amended the Fundamentals of Legislation on Health Care (Section IV, Article 7) - “the first sentence of part five of Article 16 should be stated as follows: “Health care institutions may voluntarily undergo accreditation in the manner determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine” ;".

Referring to this law (Section IV, Art. 6) http:/ /zakon2.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/2801-12/paran159#n159 the accreditation procedure is not mandatory for all healthcare institutions in Ukraine, regardless of their departmental subordination, form of ownership, profile and level of provision of treatment and preventive services assistance or medical services.
